Competition in hopeless design

Today not only marked the spectacular bankruptcy of the Danish IT-comet, IT Factory, which folded due to fraud by the CEO after having been named growth company of the year only last Thursday. It also marked the complete bankruptcy of good webdesign in Denmark.

Ok, ok, maybe it’s not that bad. But after having thought that nobody could top the design disaster that is the webdesign for the Danish School of Media and Journalism (my old school) in Aarhus, Kommunikationsforum - a webcommunity for communication professionals in Denmark - topped it.

Kommunikationsforum has relaunched in a version with a lot of space, white and hapless design. I cannot express exactly how I feel when I look at it except saying that a kind description would be to say that it’s design near the early alpha phase.Add to that that it seems like a lot of the community participants blogs and other content have disappeared somewhere in the process, and the disaster is near total.

I’m absolutely shocked that people working with communication on a professional level can put something as poor as that out there.
