In Real Life. That’s the name of a new open and sharing network for professional web enthusiasts in Denmark. And I have just been accepted as (I believe) one of the first members. And I’m pretty proud of it.

Please give away your platform

There are a lot of ways you can create buzz and thus usage of your product or service. One of these ways is to open source your source code for everyone to deploy, use and play with.

Widget-kings Netvibes is the latest to do so through Netvibes.org. Their official hope is to help the community drive innovation within the widget and personal startpages space. Time to rethink web design

The massive succes of search is putting the traditional web page under loads of pressure. Because with every piece of information ideally just being one search, why are we spending so much time and ressource trying to make content online looking like content offline.

First and foremost it’s of course the media websites I’m thinking off. Because to a large extend they resemble their offline offspring. And a set of ‘best practice’ around media web design has developed, which to my mind is blocking for a much needed rethink of what would really be optimal in the day and age of search. [Read more →]
