Sell your ads - offsite

YouTube is going to allow content creators to sell ads on their own content on the worlds largest video distribution platform.

Of course the owners of YouTube, Google, is going to take a cut of the action, but the move is none the less quite interesting. Also for media companies. [Read more →]

No sense in pioneers without colonists

Are you a pioneer, a settler or a colonist when it comes to the web? Do you feel an urgent need to try out the latest service or piece of technology, or do you wait until you see a clear need in your everyday life for them? Jeremiah Owyang has a post on the subject.

Chase them eyeballs

Chris Brogan shared an excellent thought the other day: In a time when Facebook and similar services can deliver targeting down to the very local audience, what are traditional mainstream media companies doing still insisting on people coming to their web properties?

Why not let the media chase the eyeballs where the eyeballs are instead of insisting on getting them into their own destination sites? To me the argument makes perfect sense. [Read more →]
