New blog post on Mediawatch
Today I posted a new blog post on MediaWatch.dk. It’s about customer service - or the lack of it in the media business.
You can find it here (in Danish).

A manifest on citizen journalism
Citizen journalism is something a lot of people within the media business talk about. Some think of it as a threat in terms of a malstrom of poor content from pure amateurs. Others think of it as an opportunity for redefining the role and relevance of media in society. And some again really don’t care.
No matter the fraction, one thing remains the problem: It’s hard to come by a definition of what ‘citizen journalism’ and media associated with it really is. And as long as that is the case, its hard to have a discussion between the opposing views in an effort to reach a consensus. That needs to change - and I’m part of a small group trying to give input to this change. [Read more →]

Moderator at Web TV conference
I will be moderating one or two panels at an upcoming conference on Web TV on the Southern University of Denmark (SDU) in Odense. The conference takes place on April 2 and is organized by UPDATE - a competence center for development and innovation within journalism and media - among others.
I very much look forward to attending this conference. Web TV is something I have some trouble with. I understand the appeal of live video online, but I don’t understand the appeal of a business with a - in my view - non-existing business model. I have written about the latter in Danish on MediaWatch.
Hope to see you at the conference.

New site - now in English
Vadnu.com has undergone a transformation. It has switched languages, so from now on the Danish language is a thing of the past, and English is going to be the road forward.
Why switch? Two reasons. Number one is that since I’m engulfed in a lot of discussions online, it made sense to let my site reflect the international aspect of my life online. Second I actually find it easier to express myself in English when writing online. Strange but true. [Read more →]

The LIFT conference is no different. Therefore: If you see something in the programme that you would like to know more about, leave a comment below, and I’ll see what I can do.

Reportr.org - deltag i diskussionen
